Well that was a mixed bag. I scored 297 in round one, which isn't bad (anything around 300 is competitive) but not nearly good enough to be up there with the leaders at this stage. It's still early days though!
Disappointments for my team last week were Harrison, who played the whole game but didn't seem to do much (the Brumbies had a huge possession advantage which didn't help his tackle stats I guess), Muir, who went off injured early in the game, Jackson, who went well enough but got subbed in the second half because his team were getting thumped, and Tuilevu who just didn't seem to get any attacking ball. (that Goldie guy hogged it all!)
Muir and Jackson have got the flick, but I will hold onto the rest as they should be better than that, and in any case I don't have unlimited transfers! (you should be able to buy transfers I reckon!)
I was quite happy with the rest of my squad, although I dumped Rupeni due to his injury, and will stick with them for week 2. I have added Corne Krige, Gcobani Bobo and Marius Gossen in the place of the 3 guys I dropped. Check the Why? column below for more details.

Why?
|
Harrison, Justin | BRM | 0 | 0 | $1,700,000 |
-
|
He
had an unproductive first round but I'll stick with him for now.
|
Ormsby, Kristian | CHF | 0 | 0 | $1,050,000 |
-
|
Looked
really good in the first round, at that price he's a keeper for now.
|
Sharpe, Nathan | RED | 0 | 0 | $1,300,000 |
-
|
Hmm,
his value didn't go up but he had a good game, far better than his opposition
Harrison. He looks to be a standout for the Reds.

Loose Forward | Team | Round Points | Total Points | Player Value
McCaw, Richard | CRU | 0 | 0 | $1,600,000 |
-
|
Ddin't
do anything wrong. He can stay.
|
Krige, Corne | STM | 0 | 0 | $1,692,500 |
Muir
went off injured early in the Chiefs game, and is doubtful for the next
round. He may be worth picking up if he is healthy again, and could be
a bargin. In his place I grabbed Krige, a longtime Fantasy Rugby stud
and he looks to be the best of the SA loosies with Rassie and the two-Andres
out. He's not expensive and Krige was the second best loosie in round
one.

|
Inside Back | Team | Round Points | Total Points | Player Value
Burke, Matt | WAR | 0 | 0 | $2,450,000 |
-
|
Delivered
even better than expected! The player of the round with his kicking, defence
and attacking play.
|
du Toit, Gaffie | SHK | 0 | 0 | $1,150,000 |
-
|
Missed
a few kicks but got lots of chances and definitely seems to have the starting
first five and kicking job for now. Too cheap to chuck anyway!
|
Bobo, Gcobani | CAT | 0 | 0 | $1,145,000 |
Getting
rave reviews from the Republic, let's see if he can score some more tries
this week! In any case should go up in value
|
|
Outside Back | Team | Round Points | Total Points | Player Value
Goosen, Marius | STM | 0 | 0 | $1265,000 |
Rupeni
did indeed deliver, both in terms of tries (he got two) and increase in
value, I sold him for about 250,000 more than I paid, but unfortunately for
all concerned he went and injured himself in the last play of the game
and is now unlikely to play for at least a month. I'll look out for his
return though, he's a keeper if healthly.
I grabbed Gossen, another top Outside back from the first round, and a bargin. The Stormers host the Waratahs, so hopefully they should be able to defend home ground and run in a stack of tries! |
|
Tuilevu, Aisea | HGH | 0 | 0 | $1,350,000 |
-
|
Tuilevu
was very quiet against the Crusaders, but I'm happy about that! As a reward
I'll stick by him for now, he still has great potential if play runs his
way more.
